wishes to recruit ECONOMISTS (ON CONTRACT BASIS)

2. Name of the post : ECONOMISTS
3. Total Number of Posts 5 One Post is reserved for OBC category The positions are in Mumbai, Hyderabad & Gurgaon
4. Age Limit : 21 years to 30 years (As on 01/01/2009),(Relaxation in age limit will be available to reserved category candidates as per Government of India Guidelines)
The candidate should have good grasp of macroeconomic environment and financial sector. He/she should have proficiency in computer applications.
5. Remuneration : Rs. 5 Lac p.a. on CTC basis. Of the total remuneration payable 70% will be fixed pay, 30% will be variable pay, payable on fulfilling certain terms and conditions set by the Bank. A Special allowance of Rs. 1 lac p.a. for the officers to be posted in Mumbai Centre will be payable over & above the CTC package of Rs. 5 lac.
6. Period of Contract : The selected candidates will be appointed on contract basis initially for a period of three years. ON COMPLETION OF CONTRACT, OPPORTUNITIES FOR RENEWAL AT A HIGHER PACKAGE ARE AVAILABLE.

2. Selection Procedure : The selection will be through open competition (Interview). Eligible Candidates shall be required to submit complete application form along with their photographs and copies of testimonials and other experience certificate(s). T he applications should be accompanied with a Demand Draft for Rs. 250/- as application and postage fee (Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PWD category candidates as postage) favouring State Bank of India, Economist-2009 drawn on Mumbai having a minimum validity of SIX months. The candidates are required to write their name, post applied for and date of birth on the reverse of the draft.
Applications by any other mode i.e. by RegisteredSpeed Post or Courier will not be accepted. The candidates shall be shortlisted by the Bank in the proportion of 3 to 5 times in the number of vacancies depending upon the number and nature of applications received. Shortlisted candidates will be issued call letters by Central Recruitment & Promotion Department of the Bank for appearing in the interview. THE CANDIDATES MAY PLEASE NOTE THAT THE NAMES OF SHORTLISTED CANDIDATES WILL BE POSTED ON THE BANK???S WEBSITES www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in INDICATING THE TIME/DATE/VENUE OF THE INTERVIEW.
3. General Information : i) Fee/postage once paid will not be refunded on any account nor can it be held in reserve for any other examination/ selection.
ii) Application as per format received without photograph, signature, demand draft with adequate fees and / or certificates claiming reservations / relaxation will be rejected without assigning any reason.
iii) OBC candidates willing to avail reservation, should submit certificate on prescribed, format containing ???Non-Creamy layer??? clause for the year 2007-08 issued on or after 01/04/2008.
iv) In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment that a candidate does not fulfill the eligibility norms and /or that he/she has furnished any incorrect/false information or has suppressed any material fact(s), his/her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these shortcoming(s) is/are detected even after appointment, his/ her services are liable to be terminated.
v) Outstation candidates called for interview are entitled for 1st Class/AC 3 tier to & fro railway fare by shortest route.
vi) Engagement of selected candidate is subject to his/her being declared medically fit as per the requirement of the Bank. Such engagement will also be subject to Bank’s service Rules as applicable to Economists.
vii) The Central Recruitment & Promotion Department (CRPD) takes no responsibility for any delay in receipt or loss in post or transit of any application or communication. The CRPD also takes no responsibility to connect any certificate/remittance sent separately. The candidates are advised NOT to send original certificates/mark sheets along with their applications.
viii) DECISION OF THE BANK IN ALL MATTERS REGARDING ELIGIBILITY, CONDUCT OF INTERVIEW, SELECTION WOULD BE FINAL AND BINDING ON ALL CANDIDATES. NO REPRESENTATION OR CORRESPONDENCE WILL BE ENTERTAINED BY THE BANK IN THIS REGARD.
